This week, Capcom has showcased new additions coming from its internal teams at the publisher. One is Resident Evil Veronica – a remake of the classic 2000 ‘Code: Veronica’. And, the next Year 4 DLC campaign for Street Fighter 6 was revealed which closed things off with the addition of Tifa to the roster.
Previously the highly-anticipated release of Monster Hunter Wilds, the successor to Monster Hunter World, did hit a pretty high milestone. By March 2025, the game already shipped over 8 million units. However, the game did not perform to Capcom’s standards. In one interview, Capcom president Haruhito Tsujimoto pointed at the price increases of PlayStation 5 to be the reasoning for its short overcomings.
All things considered, Capcom still plans to support the game with the achievement it managed to reach. At Summer Game Fest, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance was announced. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“The expansion introduces the Skybound Eyrie, where floating ruin-adorned islands are suspended above the Forbidden Lands. The new terrain provides fun ways to travel atop Seikret mounts, gliding between the floating isles,” Capcom writes. “The expansion will feature a wealth of content for newcomers and veterans alike, with even more profound challenges awaiting hunters as they seek to unravel the mystery surrounding the sudden appearance of Elder Dragons in the Forbidden Lands.”
Expanding on the new monsters: “The trailer showcased a new monster pack displaying devastating aerial coordination and gave a glimpse of returning fan-favorite Elder Dragons including Kushala Daora. Please stay tuned for more information on the new challenges that await in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. […] The appearance of Elder Dragons in the reveal trailer inspired the developers to reflect on their portrayal in the recently released Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.”
