Over the past month, Nintendo Switch Online entering the summer remained fairly active similarly reflecting what 2022 has offered so far. At the start of July, the Sega Genesis virtual library added new titles including Comix Zone, MEGA MAN: THE WILY WARS, Target Earth, and Zero Wing. However, the list continues to grow elsewhere for the service later on.

In that, the Nintendo 64 virtual library received its own helping that same month. Rather, it welcomed one new title, Pokémon Puzzle League, which many nostalgic fans were excited to revisit on the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the base Nintendo Switch Online service added new titles for both NES & SNES virtual libraries respectively with Fighter’s History, Kirby’s Avalanche, And Daiva Story 6: Imperial of Nirsartia.

This week, Nintendo returns with a new announcement revealing Wave Racer 64 is the new addition to the service for the Nintendo 64 virtual library releasing this Friday. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

“Wave Race 64 is a fast and fluid racing game originally released shortly after the launch of the Nintendo 64 system in 1996. Choose from one of four watercraft racers, each with their own abilities and style, and try to capture glory in Championship Mode, whip around the tracks in Time Trials, pull off tricks in Stunt Mode or challenge a friend in 2P VS. Mode,” the overview reads for the game.

“Wave Race 64 features nine challenging courses set across scenic locales. Go airborne with dolphins on the golden shores of Sunset Bay, cruise under the bright lights and tall buildings of Twilight City, feel the crashing waves on Sunny Beach or chill out on the frigid waters of Glacier Coast, just to name a few. Plus, racing conditions will change with the weather, making the water choppy or covering the course with fog. The waves will even respond to the way that you and your rivals move!”
