With our original hand-on with Infernax, Rectify Gaming wrote: “Watching the zombie-like enemies eating corpses as the blood blankets the ground and the same for attacking as well. When defeating the concluding boss, the player is drenched with the entrails from the foe and you can watch the bodily fluids drip to the ground. All are satisfying despite how minor these traits are for the game.”
Since then, the NES-inspired 2D RPG went on to embrace a Valentine’s Day release in 2022. Not to mention the game was also a welcoming addition to Xbox Game Pass for console, PC, and Xbox Cloud Streaming. It was not until this past February did Infernax finally departed from the subscription service entirely.
Now this coming April, Infernax is to be receiving a new update which include couch co-op to the main game coming April 5th. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“This Spring, return to the lands of Upel as the Duke Alcedor, this time joined by your trusty squire Cervul as you attempt to regain control from the forces that plague your dutchy. The new mode is playable as a standard 2-player local co-op (with support for Steam remote play) or as one player hot-swap mode that allows a single person to control both characters by switching on the fly.
“We’ve beefed up the forces of evil that plague the land to give an appropriate amount of challenge for a team, as well as integrating Cervul into the story of the game. We’ve modified the castles to provide additional challenge as well, so that returning players and first-time players will both find something interesting waiting for them.” The update will be a free install for all owners of the game, Berzerk Studio confirms.
