In the Capcom filmography, the publisher happens to be one of the most active firms in the video game industry. So far, the firm has released a magnitude of motion pictures with its involvement and more recently pertains to this notion even still. Already, Capcom has handled releases such as Dragon’s Dogma anime & Resident Evil series on Netflix, Paul W. S. Anderson’s Monster Hunter movie, and the Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City film.

Additionally, the firm is still orchestrating more productions on the way. Previously, it was confirmed a new Devil May Cry anime is in the works and is said to be a multi-season arc with eight episodes confirmed for the first season. Even more, a Mega Man movie is also told to be in development over at Netflix as well.

A new report from IGN reveals that Legendary Entertainment (Detective Pikachu, Dune, Godzilla vs. Kong) is to be helming a new live-action adaptation for Street Fighter. This will be a second spin on the series nearly three decades since 1994’s Street Fighter. So far, casting has yet to be confirmed for the new film nor has roles behind the cameras just yet.

This new motion picture will go up against New Line Cinema’s Mortal Kombat. The first film shipped back in spring 2021 offering a modern take on the classic series. Already, a sequel is planned for the established series as Moon Knight writer Jeremy Slater is said to be writing the script for the follow-up film.

For Street Fighter fans all around, it is not too long until the next major installment ships later this summer. Capcom announced Street Fighter 6 is planned to release this June and will feature an open-world hub to explore. This will also mark the return of the series to Xbox after the platform exclusive release of Street Fighter V before. You can read the full report by heading here.
