Iron Galaxy are back and they’re finally bringing an update to Killer Instinct after years of silence. The announcement was made during the first day of EVO, the largest fighting game event. They stated the Killer Instinct update will be free as they celebrate its 10th Anniversary since it came to Xbox One and PC in 2013.

The Killer Instinct update will include a balance update, improved matchmaking and 4K support for Xbox Series XlS. It will be arriving later this year with more information coming soon.

Iron Galaxy Studios had always been interested in making a new Killer Instinct game, but Microsoft would have to open the opportunity. Could this update mean there will finally be more Killer Instinct content coming? That remains to be seen.
