
Microsoft made a surprise announcement at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 by announcing Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is now available for Xbox consoles. Players can now enjoy the real time strategy game built from the ground up for Xbox players that is built for Xbox controller use and has a console-specific UI.
Return to History – The past is prologue as you are immersed in a rich historical setting of 10 diverse civilizations across the world from the English to the Chinese to the Delhi Sultanate in your quest for victory. Build cities, manage resources, and lead your troops to battle on land and at sea in 4 distinct campaigns with 35 missions that span across 500 years of history from the Dark Ages up to the Renaissance.
Over a year ago, Age of Empires IV appeared on the Xbox Insider Hub teasing that this was planned for a while from Xbox Game Studios. Microsoft also announced in late 2022 that Age of Empires would be coming to Xbox consoles sometime in 2023.
Age of Empires IV originally released in 2021 for PC and it’s been available for on PC Game Pass since then.
