The Award winning game The Witcher 3 is going to receive its last downloadable content, and CD Projekt Red assures it’s not working on another Witcher game after Blood and Wine releases later this month.
“I can assure you we are not working on another Witcher (..) This is the end. Blood and Wine is [the] closing and there won’t be any Witcher any time soon–if there ever will be one.” – Said studio co-founder Marcin Iwinski to Eurogamer.
CD Projekt Red has confirmed its releasing a new game later this year, but we have no idea what they are working on. It will be a new type of game previously unexplored by the studio. The studio is also developing Cyberpunk 2077 that is schedule to release between 2017-2021. Marcin previously said he was interested in returning to The Witcher franchise after they finish CyberPunk 2077.
“Personally, I hope that someday in the future we will do something more because I love the setting and I [worked] on The Witcher games around 12 years right now,” he said. “But I don’t know what we will decide. The strategy plan they’ve got they will share with us soon. We’ll see.”
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold around 10 Million copies across all platforms, and its latest DLC will offer 90 new quests, 30~hours of gameplay, and 40 points of interest!
