Just over a year ago, a slew of Grand Theft Auto VI footage leaked online. While it was not complete gameplay footage of the final game, it did happen to be realized renders for an older build of the game. In it, we learned of the two protagonists – one male & one female – alongside the return to the beloved Vice City. What came as an even bigger surprise is that Take-Two Interactive projects 2025 to be its biggest year for the firm which many speculate to be the release window.

To cater to the speculation brewing online, insiders that corroborated the leaks prior also said that 2024-2025 was in the crosshairs for the game’s release. According to a follow-up by CEO Strauss Zelnick, he furthers this with emphasis on 2025 for Take-Two Interactive. Not to mention the recent post that fans online are convinced is a hinting to a soon tease for the game. That has yet to be proven.

What could finally pose as tangible certainty for the game’s nearing announcement is Metacritic potentially. For many games, players views the website for reviews on film, television, and games. Well, Grand Theft Auto VI received a proper page on Metacritic listed for both PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox Series X|S.

“With development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases,” the description reads. Ultimately, it is understood that the game is well underway at Rockstar Games and this signifies that.

Deciding when the game is to be revealed – that guess is good as anyone’s. But, there has been other unveilings that could point towards the game. For instance, the founding of the new Rockstar Games Los Angeles studio earlier this summer. The same can also be applied to the acquisition for Cfx.re role-playing community also.
