Artifice: War Tactics is a turn-based strategy game that immerses players in a medieval fantasy world where victory hinges on cunning tactics and skillful execution. While it offers some compelling features and elements that make it an engaging experience, it’s not without its fair share of flaws, and is far from being ready to exit it’s early access state.

Artifice: War Tactics currently boasts an array of six playable champions, each with their unique abilities and characteristics. However, as the game progresses, players may find the limited roster somewhat underwhelming. The game currently limits strategic diversity and can make the game feel repetitive over time. Expanding the roster is needed badly (This is promised to come ) as well as introducing more customization options for existing champions could greatly enhance the overall experience.

Despite the game’s captivating premise of setting deadly traps and orchestrating explosive chain reactions, the gameplay can quickly become repetitive. Over time, the strategies required to succeed in battles begin to feel formulaic, and the game’s AI opponents can sometimes lack the adaptability to keep players consistently engaged. A greater variety in mission objectives or more dynamic AI behavior would help combat this issue.

With that said, the difficulty levels of boss battles can be inconsistent. Some may find them frustratingly challenging, while others breeze through them with little effort. A more balanced and gradual difficulty curve, as well as additional ways to customize and strengthen champions, would make the game’s progression more satisfying.

Artifice: War Tactics is a promising turn-based strategy game set in a captivating medieval fantasy world. However, it is essential to address the issues of champion variety, repetitive gameplay, and unbalanced difficulty to ensure that players remain fully engaged and satisfied throughout their conquest of this fantasy realm if this game wish’s to succeed.
