Mortal Kombat 1 has sold 3 million copies since its release

Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios released Mortal Kombat 1, the latest installment of the franchise in September 2023. The game was released on Xbox Series XlS, PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 providing more opportunities for sales.

According to a post from Variety, Mortal Kombat 1 sold 3 million copies since its release making it one of the most profitable franchises for Warner Bros.

“The two franchises that WB Discovery profited from the most in 2023 are “Mortal Kombat,” with the release of “Mortal Kombat 1,” which has sold 3 million copies since its September release”

In November 2023 it was reported that Mortal Kombat 1 nearly sold 3 million copies in two months and obviously, by the end of the year, it hit that number. While the sales number might seem low to some, it’s a positive sign that it was a profitable game and will continue to be.
