Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone have been very popular as of late and it’s having more success when it comes to player counts compared to last year with Modern Warfare II. Activision announced it banned thousands of accounts in Call of Duty across both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone over the weekend.

The total number of banned accounts that were identified was over 27,000.

Here is the statement that CharlieIntel shared on X:

Team RICOCHET identified and banned over 27,000 accounts over the weekend through a series of upgraded detection systems. The team is progressing on a new set of security updates and anticipates more ban waves to come.”

It seems that some streamers and other users received a “false permanent ban”, but Activision did not give any confirmations for specific bans. All of this action comes days after Season 3 launched for Modern Warfare 3 when it brought new tracer packs, game modes, maps, and a lot more to both games.

In other Call of Duty news, Black Ops: Gulf War is reportedly going to be featured at the Xbox Showcase in June with an announcement coming before that possibly at Summer Game Fest.
