So Phil Spencer announced the 2 consoles over E3, and many outlets thought it weird to do so, but it’s good education to customers on an ‘entry level’ console or a premium one.
Phil said, quote on quote,  “The reason we announced when we did—one is I wanted to give customers a view into what we were doing. If they say I have an Xbox One now, I’m thinking about an Xbox One S, I want to be as transparent as I can be so they know they’re buying with as much information as I can give them. I can’t always give them all the information, but I want to give them this information. I want to talk about Scorpio so customers can feel like they have a view into what we were doing so they could make the decision that is right for them.”
This announcement hit 2 birds with one stone, because it made the PS Neo less hyped for, but also gave Xbox users a choice in which console. They each have their own advantages, but we’ll see in the end which is better.
Project Scorpio will feature 6 teraflops of GPU performance, 8 CPU cores, and over 320 GB/s of memory bandwidth. Read more about Scorpio here
