Netflix’s Devil May Cry Anime Gets New Trailer With April 2025 Release Window

At the height of the Castlevania anime on Netflix, Capcom shipped Devil May Cry V. And by the end of 2018, it was confirmed that executive producer for the Netflix series will be spearheading the same venture for Devil May Cry. However, details remained light for countless months. In 2021, new information broke out revealing the planned structure for the animated show.

In that, Devil May Cry would consist of 8 episodes for the first season. The story was said to envelope to another set of episodes into season 2 for a multi-story arc. But that was in 2021. Fast forward to September 2023, Netflix revealed the first teaser for Devil May Cry. And just from the brief glimpse, fans were satisfied despite the elongated wait for its first look.

Now this week at Netflix Geeked Week 2024, the streaming giant revealed a new trailer for Devil May Cry and shared for a planned release aiming sometime in April 2025. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“Rest assured, we are working very hard because we love the franchise and because we want to deliver something great,” showrunner Adi Shakar reveals. “Our goal wasn’t just to pump out another animated show. My goal is to make one of the best shows on the Netflix platform — period.” It is also revealed that Johnny Yong Bosch (Akira, Bleach) voices Dante in the series.

Previously, Shakar also did notable work on other Netflix video game animated efforts. Released in fall 2023, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix  released on Netflix offering a unique blend of Ubisoft properties with Rayman as the starring antagonist.
