Developer Rocksteady Studios in just one year dismantled roughly a decade of excitement and a good portion of its lineage with the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Despite the years waiting between the new release from Batman Arkham Knight, it resulted in becoming a major loss. It was reported that Warner Bros. Discovery faced over $200 million in missed revenue from the game upon release.

And there are no signs of future support for obvious reasons. It was reported by IGN that the firm has no comment on continued post-launch support. Only the promised roadmap for the first year is to be honored with no future beyond that. More recently, it was understood that Rocksteady Studios has already commenced development on its next game as per one LinkedIn profile.

Now in a new development this week, Rocksteady Studios is said to be returning to the Dark Knight once again. According to Xbox Era’s Nick Baker, the game is a return to form for the developer. More interesting is that he posted on X that the title is being eyed by Sony Interactive Entertainment to manage a unique release for PlayStation.

From its past, it is no secret the arrangements that Batman Arkham has established with PlayStation. Arkham Asylum still remains the only platform for the unique Joker DLC for the 2009 release. Additionally, Batman Arkham VR was also a timed exclusive for PlayStation VR originally launching on the platform then.

As per what Warner Bros. Discovery holds to its chest, it has lamented on further support for gaming. Despite the fallout from 2024 with Rocksteady Studios’ latest release, it is still adamant in this industry as a “strategic asset” for its business. You can read the full report by heading here.
