Harrison Ford Applauds Troy Baker’s Portrayal For Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Arguing AI Cannot Replace Talent

This past December, the tailend of 2024 was shocked with the release of MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Despite being a true Xbox Game Studios release, Microsoft has confirmed that the game will also be coming to PlayStation 5 sometime this year. As for the game currently, it has already faced more than four million players in its first month.

Additionally, the Xbox firm has celebrated the game’s release with promotions including an Xbox Series X special edition and even IHOP dishes for a limited time. Even more, players that are not already subscribed to Xbox Game Pass could still find different ways to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Part of its IHOP Stack Market rewards program, spending $200 in pancakes could reward you the game if you haven’t already.

Recently now with the game’s success as found online, Harrison Ford did speak on his experience seeing a new portrayal of his original character. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Ford does applaud Baker’s performance and further elaborated the importance of authentic, human actors can never be replaced by artificial intelligence.

“You don’t need artificial intelligence to steal my soul. You can already do it for nickels & dimes with good ideas & talent. He did a brilliant job & it didn’t take AI to do it,” Ford says. He adds on the topic of a successor: “There won’t be any need for me. There’s somebody behind me. Doing what I did. And that’s the attraction. It’s what’s coming.”

Continuing: “My plan is to keep working behind that face till I don’t care what happens anymore. I’m selling that piece by piece while I’m alive. I’ve been compensated. You don’t need to worry about me.” Interesting enough, the game is part of the official canon. In an interview with Variety, Lucasfilm Games general manager Douglas Reilly confirmed that the title is canonically tied to the films.
