A closer look at PowerA PAC-MAN Collection

PowerA just released its latest collection, which collaborates with Bandai Namco’s PAC-MAN. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the iconic video game, and PowerA has released a new controller and protection case for the Nintendo Switch.

The folks at PowerA were kind enough to send us samples of the PAC-MAN Xbox Controller and the Nintendo Switch Protection Case. 

PAC-MAN SE Xbox Wireless Controller for Xbox Series X|S – $99.99

The biggest draw for the PowerA PAC-MAN Collection is, without a doubt the Xbox Wireless Controller that has the potential to glow in the dark. At first glance, the controller has a lot going on. You have the entire PAC-MAN board featuring all ghosts, items, and the iconic character himself.

There is also the High Score on there as well as uniquely designed buttons that use the PAC-MAN font. The combination of Blue, Black, and Yellow makes this controller stand out. 

One of the other features marketed with the controller is glow in the dark. Sadly, while trying to make my living room completely dark, the function on my controller did not work for me. I’ve tried so many different ways to see if it would work, but it does not. 

The PAC-MAN SE Xbox Controller from PowerA is a solid controller that is very similar to the Fortnite SE Controller we covered a few months ago.

What’s Inside The Box

With the PAC-MAN SE Xbox Controller you receive the controller itself, the USB Adapter to be able to connect to your console, and a USB-C cable to use it as a wired controller and to charge it. 

PAC-MAN Nintendo Switch Case – $22.99

The other part of the PAC-MAN 45th Collection from PowerA features a Nintendo Switch Protection Case. It’s your normal carrying case for the Switch where you can carry the console, up to 9 games, and other small accessories.

This Nintendo Switch Case has a few more options for personalization. It comes with reusable clings that  you can put on the case which will allow you to essentially create your own PAC-MAN game board. 

Overall, it’s a solid switch case like always, with the PowerA Nintendo Switch cases. It can fit your OLED, Switch Lite, and regular Switch in the case. The texture of the case is different from what I’ve seen, and that’s likely due to the ability to use the clings.

The PAC-MAN  45th Anniversary Collection from PowerA is perfect for anyone who is a big fan of the classic franchise. It has to be up there as one of the best collections from PowerA. 

I would recommend the Xbox Controller as long as you are looking for an upgrade from what you currently have. The Hall Effect thumbstick makes a major difference in gameplay.
