Predating back to 2017, Little Nightmares was a welcomed release crossing horror & puzzle platforming. “It combines creepy and exuberant art with vivid and innocent colors. It’s a very short experience but a satisfying one. If you absolutely love these kinds of games I say pull the trigger, otherwise, wait for a sale or rent it in a local store,” Rectify Gaming wrote in our review; scoring it a 8/10.

Since then, there has been major shifts to the IP. With soon to be three entries, the latest is aiming to launch in October 2025 this fall. However, the developer has been swapped from Tarsier Studios to Supermassive Games. But for fans of the original, Little Nightmares is releasing for the newer Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. A rating for an ‘Enhanced Edition’ was spotted last year.

This week from the recent Little Nightmares Showcase, Bandai Namco revealed that Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition will launch the same day as Little Nightmares III this Halloween season. You can watch the new comparison trailer in the video below:

“Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition brings Six’s story to a new standard thanks to technical enhancements, such as volumetric lightning and ray tracing, as well as gameplay changes like better checkpoint placement, gameplay helpers, letting more players discover Six’s journey through the Maw,” the overview reads in the press release.

For long time fans of the series, Bandai Namco did point out that those who pre-order Little Nightmares III will be deemed early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition. “Pre-ordering a digital copy will also include the early access of Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC,” the publisher says.
