switch canada

Nintendo of Canada announced on Monday that the price of the original Nintendo Switch family of systems will increase in the country based on market conditions. This includes the Switch OLED Model, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, physical and digital Nintendo Switch games and Nintendo Switch accessories.

In Canada, expect the prices of amiibo and online memberships to increase as well. The new pricing information for Canada will be shared on Nintendo’s website on August 1, 2025.

Does this impact the Switch 2 price?

Strangely enough, the price increase for Switch products in Canada does not apply to the Nintendo Switch 2 system, accessories, or software. It’s only for the original Switch. Everything you see now about the Switch 2 prices in Canada is what you’ll continue to see beyond August 1.

Depending on the price increase, this could force many customers in Canada to buy the Switch 2.
