For about a decade now, the outcry for Bloodborne to return has been apparent from PlayStation fans. But with the recent closure of developer Bluepoint Games, it appears that the decision also severed any chance of a remake for the PlayStation 4 fan-favorite. Regardless, it known that a successor is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 – The Duskbloods.
It was announced last spring with plans to ship for Nintendo Switch 2. In February, it was addressed that despite internal hiccups at FROMSoftware, it still plans to ship the new IP alongside the platform version ‘Tarnished Edition’ of Elden Ring too. Again, FROMSoftware reassured fans just last month said that both games are still on the way for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
At the Nintendo Direct this week, Nintendo confirmed that The Duskbloods will be hosting a closed network test later this summer to feel out the waters for the Bloodborne successor. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“In this new multiplayer action game, you’ll take on the role of the Bloodsworn and fight against – and alongside – up to seven other players with unique weapons and abilities. Transcend humanity with blood-based powers that transform your character and combat style as you battle to secure the coveted First Blood,” the synopsis from the press release shares.
Just less than a week ago, FROMSoftware & Bandai Namco confirmed that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will ship for Nintendo Switch 2 later this August. You can read the full report by heading here.
