Xbox Game Studios and Playground Games made the move to bring Forza Horizon 5 to its biggest competitor, PlayStation 5. In May, the racing title sold over 2 million copies, and that was just a month after it was released.
It was shared by Alinea Analytics that Forza Horizon 5 has sold more than 3 million copies on PlayStation 5. It has now surpassed Capcom’s Monster Hunter: World.
This would make Forza Horizon 5 the best-selling new game on PlayStation consoles in 2025, for copies sold. The latest Forza Horizon title saw over 45 million players across Xbox thanks to its availability on Xbox Game Pass.
The outlet also shares that Forza Horizon 5 on Steam sold 6.5 million copies worldwide.
Will Ghost of Yotei Top Forza on PS5?
Sucker Punch and Sony Interactive Entertainment are releasing PlayStation 5’s biggest game of the year, Ghost of Yotei, on October 2, 2025. The sequel to Ghost of Tsushima will have many special editions for consumers to buy. Including two limited edition consoles, controllers, and a console plate cover.
In other gaming news, a job listing for PlayStation was spotted, and it could have hinted at more PlayStation Studios titles coming to the Xbox platform.
