cyberpunk 2

CD Projekt Red announced plans for Cyberpunk 2, which is underway, but it’s still early in development. It officially entered pre-production. Cyberpunk 2077 was released almost five years ago, and the game surprisingly has no multiplayer features, but in the sequel, that might change.

According to a new job listing by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2 could feature multiplayer. The studio is looking for a Lead Network Engineer who will have responsibilities such as “Leading your team to develop and optimize multiplayer systems, including matchmaking, and addressing challenges related to latency, bandwidth usage, and server performance.”

There is also a long list of qualifications for this position at CD Projekt Red, such as 7 years of professional experience as a programmer within the games industry.

It will be a while until we see Cyberpunk 2. Right now, the studio is preparing to release The Witcher 4 first, which is expected to be released after 2026

Cyberpunk 2077 is available to play on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
