Wizordum Launches For Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Mac Today

Over the past few years, the return to boomer shooters to prominence has not been a big issue for many. While Bethesda fosters the most notable IPs like Doom & Wolfenstein, there are other publishers that have aided this effort as well. Enter Apogee Entertainment: a legacy publisher that returned with more enthusiasm for the industry than ever before.

Earlier in 2023, Apogee Entertainment shipped Rise Of The Triad: Ludicrous Edition which re-rolled the original game for new hardware and packaged with exciting technical improvements. Additionally, Apogee Entertainment further added to the boomer shooter subgenre with Turbo Overkill. Launching earlier this January, it has remained a highlight release for the year.

Now today on Tuesday, Emberheart Games’ Wizordum is available now for consoles as well as Mac. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:

These custom adventures were created by talented players in Wizordum’s Level Editor and will give console Mages a taste of the creativity waiting in the realm of Terrabruma,” the blog post shares.

“The Ancient Seal of Terrabruma has shattered, unleashing the forces of Chaos once more,” the plot synopsis reads. “As one of the last Mages of Wizordum sanctuary, you must embark on a quest to find the source of this corruption and push the Chaos back before they consume the kingdom in a speedrun-friendly fantasy FPS tearing a page from the spellbooks of ‘90s fantasy FPS classics like Hexen and Heretic.”
