Skate Season 1 To Release Next Week

Although skateboarding games feel like releases from a bygone era, there is a wave in full swing for the genre. Earlier this Year, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 already arrived to all major platforms. Additionally, Sam Eng is preparing to ship his own title as well. Skate Story – a title about the underworld of New York City to devour the moon, with skateboarding – is aiming to release later this year as well.

Another IP that arrived in 2025 too is Skate. Electronic Arts & Full Circle shipped the newest flavor of Skate in a sampling of live-service offerings. It was already confirmed previously the game would be a free-to-play experience; microtransactions would only consist of cosmetics predominantly. And while previous playtests were held, this version of Skate is only an Early Access release thus far.

And as developer Full Circle continues to iron out the kinks towards a full release in the future, post-early access release for Skate is to begin with Season 1 arriving next week. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“First, San Van is going to get a little makeover to do it up for the Season, and there’s plenty to discover once you drop in. Check out some of the seasonal decor we’re bringing to spots like The Orb, The Skateway, and new skateable areas around the city. Here’s a preview of what’s coming to the city,” the blog post elaborates on the roadmap for the approaching update.

“Skate-o-Ween, as it’s called in San Van, is the annual Halloween celebration, less focused on the spookiness and more about getting a chuckle out of someone, creating an inventive costume, and just getting together to skate in a fun outfit. During San Van’s Skate-o-Ween, skaters often don outfits that are callbacks to the origins of skateboarding – you’ll see costumes, wild styles, or the baggy pants and chunky shoes of the early aughts worn ironically.”

Adding: “Each Season in San Vansterdam will add more to the game, such as new skateable areas, new Challenges and Tasks, Seasonal events like Skate-o-Ween and the 7-Ply Maple Harvest, new brand partners, additional cosmetics, new tracks to the soundtrack, and a new skate.Pass, plus bug fixes and quality of life improvements. We’ll add more life and style to the city, like some spooky decor around the city for Skate-o-Ween and in-game events.”
