Although 2025 has remained a monumental year for the video game industry, there has been some major changes in leadership as well. This fall, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser announced his stepping down from the position. Similarly at PlayStation too, Bungie veteran Pete Parsons shared he is to also exit the Destiny team as well.
And after the recent release of the renowned sequel Ghost of Yotei, Sucker Punch Productions co-founder Brian Fleming is to depart from the PlayStation studio by next year. In our review for the team’s latest release, we scored it a 9.5/10. “Ghost of Yotei is the rare sequel that understands what made its predecessor special and builds upon it exceptionally.”
In his place, there will be two new studio heads for Sucker Punch Productions: Jason Connell & Adrian Bentley. The two are most recognized for their involvement “shaping the creative and technical direction” of the PlayStation game studio. Connell is a creative director for the Ghost franchise while Bentley is associated as a technical director that crafted fundamental systems that makes Sucker Punch Productions titles stand out.
“After nearly three decades helping bring to life iconic franchises like Sly Cooper, inFAMOUS, Ghost of Tsushima, and Ghost of Yōtei, Brian Fleming has announced he’s passing Sucker Punch studio leadership on to a new generation. Over the past year, Brian has worked closely with PlayStation Studios to ensure that Sucker Punch was in the best hands moving forward with a strong foundation for the studio’s continued success,” the press release shares on Fleming’s announcement.
Reflecting on Sucker Punch Productions’ vault of IPs, the developer did speak on one that has been dormant for over a decade. Ahead of the release for Ghost of Yotei, co-game director Nate Fox said in an interview that there is little excitement internally to craft a new Sly Cooper title.
