Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Reveals New Free Characters Update

During Sonic’s 35th Anniversary, SEGA shared multiple announcements for its already released games including Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. They announced more free character updates that start today until September.

Today, Classic Sonic is available to all players. Axel from Crazy Taxi and Amigo from Samba de Amigo will be arriving in late summer 2026. Below is the list of characters arriving to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds this year:

• Classic Sonic (Now Available)
• Axel (August 2026)
• Amigo (September 2026)

It was also revealed that a new SEGA Music Collection will be joining the game as well. Tracks will be added with each free character drop.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds released on September 25, 2025 for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, XBOX One, and PC via Steam. It released for Nintendo Switch 2 on March 26, 2026.

In other news, Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition has released for the Nintendo Switch 2.
