Atlus Ramps Up Excitement For Persona’s 30th Anniversary, Hints More Announcements To Come

Year after year, Japanese developer Atlus has been on a streak with its past couple releases. 2024 did this with Metaphor: ReFantazio. In our review, we scored it a 9.5/10 writing the game “checks all the boxes for a remarkable JRPG that not only tells a compelling story and features strategic gameplay, but also has a beautiful art direction and talented voice cast to back it up.”

Additionally, Atlus also shipped Persona 3 Reload – a modern remake of the classic PlayStation 2 title. “Despite being a remake, Persona 3 Reload is undoubtedly at the forefront of mainline Persona titles,” our review exclaims. “The game appeals to both fans and newcomers of the series, as it offers a compelling story, memorable characters, and addictive gameplay, all through a modern lens.”

Now with 2026 here, Atlus is preparing its 30th anniversary celebration for the Persona IP. On X, it kicked things off with the official graphic for the franchise commemorating the releases built up for the series so far.

Via Persona Central, it was revealed that Atlus is preparing announcements for this year’s anniversary celebration. Already, we understand that Persona 4 Revival is on the way which coats the 2008 title with the same remake paint job that Persona 3 Reload was issued. Speaking to 4Gamer, creative producer Kazuhisa Wada explained that more reveals atop of what is already public knowledge will be unveiled in 2026.

“2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the Persona series. With the gratitude we have for all of you, we’re preparing a wealth of initiatives on a global scale, so please look forward to it!” He also told Famitsu: “Preparations are steadily progressing and are firmly on track, so now all that’s left is to give everything we’ve got and see it through to the end. It’s time to launch the operation.”

Already, there is one fragment for the Persona 30th anniversary uncovered online. By Gematsu, it was revealed that a Persona 5 Fitness Boxing crossover is being teased. “This time, I’m preparing a training plan that’s a bit different from usual. After all, stamina is essential for a Phantom Thief!” the translated teaser reads.
