Virtua Fighter Crossroads Announced, Coming In 2027

In recent time, RGG Studio has been continuously moving. Following the release of Yakuza  Kiwami 3, it confirmed the team has finished a chapter in its book and is moving forward for a new IP. Enter Stranger Than Heaven. In May, the Japanese game studio revealed it is prepared to release this winter and will act as a decade-spanning prequel to its Like a Dragon series.

This week, Ryu Ga Gotoku announced that Stranger Than Heaven will be releasing on January 15th next year. The game will also feature roles rappers for Snoop Dogg & Tupac. Another project on the way is Virtua Fighter. While not given an official name at the time, the project did receive a major feature for its new fighting system which was shown off at EVO this past August.

Now at Summer Game Fest this week, Ryu Ga Gotoku & Sega officially announced Virtua Fighter Crossroads. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

A deep single-player experience, featuring immersive, narrative-driven gameplay and head-to-head combat with signature intensity,” the official website reads for the game’s description.

“far off in tropical waters, this city is the hear of Nusa Libre Island. You’ll see all side of this sprawling wonder, from the tourist resort and walled central district to the red-light district and the slums. Among the island’s hotspots, Chinatown is a particular favorite. There’s even a local woman running a Chinese restaurant who’s rumored to be an extraordinary martial artist. People say she once cleaned up a group of bad customers one-handed.”
