Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is getting a free demo on all platforms

Square Enix announced today that Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will be getting a free demo on January 7 across Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. It has been confirmed that players will be able to carry over their progress into the full game when it releases on February 5, 2026.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined comes with a lot of enhancements and new features, including a new storyline. One of the new storylines focuses on the character of Kiefer. As the protagonist continues his adventures in the Rucker region of the past, he’ll encounter his best friend Kiefer – looking decidedly older!

The size of the Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Demo has not been revealed yet, nor has the length of it.
