The talent over at Team Cherry has shown to deliver when it comes time to ship its titles. After years of waiting, Hollow Knight: Silksong officially shipped this past fall. And with it came a massive wave of excitement for this new standalone entry for its IP. On Steam, Hollow Knight: Silksong swiftly accumulated over half a million concurrent players at release then.
And while the iron was still hot, Team Cherry also pressed on the plans for post-launch support for Hollow Knight: Silksong. In an announcement later in December, free DLC ‘Sea of Sorrow’ is planned to release in 2026. As for the core Hollow Knight experience, the game did overcome a new milestone with over 15 million sold copies since releasing.
Now this week from the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, it was revealed that Hollow Knight is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 today. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Time to forge your own path! Explore twisting caverns, battle tainted creatures and solve ancient mysteries at the kingdom’s heart – all from the comfort of your Nintendo Switch 2. With higher resolution, improved frame rates and additional effects, Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition lets players experience a classically styled 2D action adventure across a vast interconnected world,” the press release reads.
Additionally, the trailer also confirmed that Hollow Knight owners on Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to upgrade from the original Nintendo Switch version at no extra cost. Details on the enhancements are not specified, but will likely reflect the output of Hollow Knight: Silksong.
