After seven long years of waiting and wearing the clown outfits, fans got clarity on Hollow Knight: Silksong. Team Cherry announced the game will be released on all platforms on September 4.
The developers revealed in an interview with Bloomberg that Hollow Knight: Silksong never went through “development hell.” They stated, “It was never stuck or anything; it was always progressing. It’s just the case that we’re a small team, and games take a lot of time.”
Team Cherry announced that as of today, Hollow Knight has sold over 15 million copies since its release in 2017. It’s considered one of the most successful independent video games ever.
Silksong was planned to be an expansion pack revolving around Hornet. However, they announced the expansion was growing too big and would eventually become the highly anticipated sequel.
