At this most recent PlayStation State of Play, Konami had a sizable segment of the showcase. One announcement was Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 which even includes the PlayStation 3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Additionally, Konami & Annapurna Interactive revealed gameplay for Silent Hill: Townfall – both games to release later this year.

Also at the digital presentation, in collaboration with Motion Twin, Konami unveiled Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. This is the first entry for the series since Apple Arcade’s Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls back in 2021. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“True to the roots of the series, you will encounter colorful characters and powerful foes, stumble upon many secret chambers, dig up numerous hidden items (yes, certain walls can be broken to reveal health-restoring meat items), and whip your way through challenging areas! As example, did you spot the familiar Zombie enemy in the trailer? They appear early in the game and while they move slowly, making them easy to defeat, they can become troublesome in large numbers,” Konami explains.

“The game is set in 1499 Paris, a city attacked by monstrous creatures suddenly emerge from the shadows. Armed with the legendary holy whip, the Vampire Killer, Trevor Belmont’s successor ventures into the burning streets and the looming castle to hunt down the beasts. […] The trailer also fully showcases the game’s unique art style, a unique colorful approach that stays true to the classic gothic look but will let you discover the world of Castlevania like never before.”

The PlayStation Blog post also reveals: “There will be more weapons and abilities for you to master. In today’s reveal, you can see our hero use the Sword, which is easy to use and offers solid attack power. There’ll be more weapons and abilities revealed in the future. You will need to strategically plan your next move in combat and make full use of the tools to hand to stand a chance to save the city from the brink of destruction.”

Are you interested in jumping into Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse later this year?

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse ships in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
