For those uninitiated, there has been a massive turnout from Ubisoft in terms of delivering its older games new title updates with enhanced performance. In its Far Cry titles, there are over a handful from this: Far Cry 5, Far Cry 4, alongside Far Cry 3/Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon/Far Cry Primal. The same can also be said for The Division which received an update as well in December this past holiday.
The most recognized comes to its Assassin’s Creed franchise. This was kicked off with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and later went to Assassin’s Creed Origins as well as Assassin’s Creed Syndicate most recently. This week, Ubisoft also broke its silence on the future of the franchise with plans on the Black Flag remake ‘Resynced’ and spoke on both Hexe & Invictus too.
During that, it also disclosed a proper 60 FPS mode 2014’s for Assassin’s Creed Unity would also be available on Thursday. While this was found to be enabled through backwards compatibility automatically enhancing the client on Xbox Series X|S, now both Xbox as well as PlayStation 5 have found proper support issued by Ubisoft for its French Revolution-set title.
“Assassin’s Creed Unity received a 60 FPS update on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Experience the French Revolution as you play as Arno Dorian, a young Assassin on a mission to eliminate oppressors in Paris, from Templars to corrupt nobles to common street criminals. Soaring across Parisian rooftops has never been so smooth on consoles thanks to the framerate boost,” Ubisoft penned in the blog post.
While on the topic of both Far Cry & Assassin’s Creed, it was reported that Ubisoft is planning to ship multiple installments in the near future. Speaking to Variety, CEO Yves Guillemot disclosed that “several” titles for Assassin’s Creed are underway whilst a duo of titles for Far Cry is also in the pipeline too.
