Since its release on PlayStation 5, new additions to Sea of Thieves has only gained more excitement. With the game already welcoming over one million players on the new platform alone, more engagement is guaranteed for the pirate live-service from Rare. In its most recent update, Season 18, ancient adversaries alongside Banished items were welcomed then.
Now in Season 19 which goes live today, players can now expect a major addition to its PvP Hourglass Battle mode alongside other quality of life improvements. Additional acts for the season are said to include fan-favorite mode Fight Nights alongside activities for the game’s anniversary as well. You can watch the content update trailer in the video below:
“Act 1 of Season 19 focuses on refreshing these on-demand PvP sea battles, and the ways in which players can use their Hourglass of Fate to seek out clashes with other crews. The first change to get acquainted with is the introduction of Battle Bounds, as the battlefield constricts over time to force warring crews closer together and push the fight towards a nail-biting conclusion,” Rare writes in the blog post.
“As an extra bonus for PvP-minded pirates, the highly anticipated Fight Nights Event will return more than once throughout Season 19. During these windows, any crews engaging in Faction battles will find themselves earning twice as much Allegiance as usual, as well as double the standard amount of gold when cashing in their Hourglass. The first of these returning Events will be live from March 20th until March 23rd.”
Adding: “The first Bilge Rats Weekender will arrive in Act 2 of the Season, tasking players with completing themed challenges and taking on high-risk Voyages in return for a bounty of those newly refreshed Doubloons. […] Later in Season 19, Faction Battles will receive further attention with the addition of Last Ship Standing. This time-limited mode introduces Sloop-only battles that pit six crews against one another in a battlefield within the Sea of the Damned!”
