The Sea of Theives sphere has been readjusted with the helping release on PlayStation 5. Since arriving to the platform, the first Rare release on PlayStation, it was reported over one million copies were already sold on the PlayStation Store. To help, Rare has continued to launch new seasons for the ongoing live-service as well. We saw Season 14 launch an emphasis on stealth to the pirate game.

In Season 15, there was also the arrival of new meaning to the in-game wildlife that delivered a mass wave of new experiences to the waterworld. Additionally, Season 16 also brought new meaning to Sea of Thieves with portable cannons now added alongside skeletal thralls to follow your bidding. Season 17 came earlier this summer welcoming a new standard to the smugglers class with explosive additions to the game.

Now, Season 18 has arrived introducing a new class of adversary, vaults of Banished loot, and a new weapon inspired by the slayed foes. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“The Banished Ancients may be gone, but their loyal Eternal Guard have risen once again to defend their Sanctuaries! Sarcophagi have started emerging across the Sea of Thieves, and pirates who dare to approach and light the candles are liable to find themselves in a battle for their lives. The Eternal Guard will fight with everything they have to protect their keys, and they have more tricks up their sleeve than you might expect from the ghostly undead,” the description reads.

“Across The Devil’s Roar, a liberal application of explosives has uncovered Ancient structures long buried beneath the rock. Previously used by those rogue Ancients expelled by their own kind, these Sanctuaries are now home to lucrative bounty including the powerful Trident of the Banished, mysterious Banished Ancient Rune Tablets and a host of unique treasures sure to interest the Trading Companies,” a separate synopsis shares.
