Gears of War: E-Day Direct will be 30 minutes long

Xbox Game Studios announced that its annual Games Showcase will take place on June 7, and following that, there will be a Gears of War Direct. Today, during the most recent Official Xbox Podcast, Matt Booty shared that the Gears of War E-Day Direct will be 30 minutes long.

“I’ll say that we’ve got Gears Direct coming, and after seeing that, we’ve probably got a full 30 minutes, which is really great. I don’t know. I just love everybody in that studio, the work they’re doing. I’m excited about the game, and it’s just — we’re going to have a full 30 minutes of stuff to see, which will be great,” Matt Booty said.

New Xbox boss, Asha Sharma, has been big about making change since taking over. There has been talk about a new Xbox Game Pass Tier, and some are saying the word “exclusivity” is being thrown around again at the company.

In the last half of 2026, Xbox Game Studios is expected to release Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, and Forza Horizon 6.

Gears of War: E-Day is planned to release for Xbox Series and PC in 2026.
