All Weapons & How To Get in Mouse P.I For Hire

Discover everything you need to know about all weapons in Mouse P.I. For Hire, including how to get them.

Weapons in Mouse P.I. For Hire is the core of the gameplay because it’s a fast-paced first-person shooter set in a 1930s cartoon noir world. The game includes a mix of classic guns + cartoon-style experimental weapons. Choosing the best firearms is essential to defeating the enemies while progressing through the missions. Each weapon has its own damage-dealing capability, so choose the one that suits your playstyle and helps take down enemies without getting killed. Let’s play as a detective, Jack Pepper, and fight enemies using a growing arsenal of weapons.

Weapons in Mouse P.I. For Hire

Weapons in this game work like a DOOM-style FPS. You find and unlock multiple weapons while progressing through different missions. The game lets you swap between different guns and tools during fights to tackle the enemies with the best approach. Multiple weapons have upgrades or alternate fire modes, making them more lethal and damage-dealing in combat.

Weapons in Mouse PI For Hire

Weapons are not only damage tools, but also define playstyles like crowd control, DPS, and chaos effects. You constantly swap weapons depending on enemy type and situation. These weapons have three tiers of upgrades using the B.A.N.G upgrade system in Mouse P.I For Hire.

B.A.N.G Upgrade

The B.A.N.G. system is a workshop upgrade station run by Tammy’s Workshop. This improves your weapons in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, letting you upgrade weapon stats like damage, fire rate, and ammo. You also get the chance to unlock new secondary fire modes and modify weapons into more powerful versions. You encounter the B.A.N.G side quest while progressing in the game. Completing this mission allows you to increase your firepower and unlock a weapon-based achievement.

BANG Upgrades

Make sure to get access to the Workbench before heading out to upgrade your weapon. Find this crafting bench in Tammy’s shop in the main hub area, inside the basement. Go through the alleyway and enter the basement to find Tammy’s shop. Pass through different levels and find the hidden areas to get schematics. Get access to the upgrade interface at Tammy’s shop and use schematics to upgrade the weapons.

All Weapons in Mouse P.I. For Fire

Weapons are the main combat tools you use to fight enemies in Mouse P.I For Fire. Weapons are not static, letting you unlock and upgrade them over time. Some upgrades add new fire modes or effects, making the firearms more damage-dealing.

1. Micer

Micer is Jack Pepper’s default pistol and is a compact detective-style handgun. This weapon is mainly used for early-game combat, mid-range enemies, and finishing weakened enemies. You always have the Micer with you, making it useful when you run out of ammo for special weapons. The upgrades can increase damage, improve fire rate, and add better handling or efficiency.

Micer

I recommend using this weapon to take down smaller enemies from mid-range. The Micer is given to you immediately when the game begins. You start playing as Jack Pepper, already equipped with it.

2. Devarnisher

The Devarnisher is one of the game’s experimental cartoon science weapons that can melt enemies. It fires chemical globs and strips away the ink from enemies. It deals damage over time to enemies after impact. This weapon works better against shielded enemies or those hiding behind cover.

Devarnisher

The Devarnisher is one of the early-to-mid game unlocks and is the third weapon you obtain in the game. You can get this weapon in Bandel’s Laboratory. Make your way to the room to the north and hit the button over there to obtain Devarnisher.

3. James Gun

The James Gun is essentially the game’s version of a Tommy gun in Mouse P.I For Fire. It’s a rapid-fire automatic weapon and can deal high damage and crowd control. This weapon can fire bullets continuously when you hold the trigger. Use this weapon to defeat a cluster of enemies from mid-range.

James Gun

James Gun can stop enemies from shooting back, making it the best weapon to carry while progressing. Find the D-Spenser inside the Little & Big Bar on the road near the private investigation office. Opening this locked cabinet rewards you with the X1 D-Mousifier and James Gun.

Weapon B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 1) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 2) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 3)

4. Boomstick

The Boomstick is the single-barrel pump-action shotgun that fires powerful blasts that can one-shot enemies at close range. This weapon is best for close-range kills, allowing you to dominate enemies who dare to come closer to you. This widespread weapon can instantly kill weak enemies and heavily damage stronger ones.

Boomstick

Boomstick is not automatic like the James Gun, but you fire one powerful shot at a time. This weapon can be obtained while progressing in Gumshoe In The Opera. While preventing the Stilton’s Assassination, you need to exit the balcony and tailpick the door ahead to find the Boomstick.

Weapon B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 1) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 2) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 3)
Boomstick Increases damage, pushback, and max ammo. Reduces recoil. Bullets pierce the first enemy hit. Alt-Fire charges up and releases a more powerful single shot. Increases damage, pushback, and max ammo. Clip size is doubled. Bullets pierce the first two enemies hit. Increases damage, pushback, and max ammo. Reduces recoil. Bullets pierce the first three enemies hit.

5. Portable Freezer

The Portable Freezer is a freeze-type weapon that fires freezing energy. This encases enemies in ice, and enemies become immobile statues after freezing them. You can then shatter them instantly with a kick or follow-up attack. The ice beam can slow the enemy’s speed and freeze them. This allows you to shoot enemies without taking any damage.

Portable Freezer

This is the last weapon you get in the game, but it isn’t worth using. You get the Portable Freezer while completing the Work your way to the front balcony objective in The House of the Empty Mouse. Getting your hands on this last weapon lets you unlock the Guns, Lots of Guns achievement.

Weapon B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 1) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 2) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 3)
Portable Freezer Increases clip size and max ammo. Freezes enemies faster. Alt-Fire shoots an icicle that explodes on impact, dealing damage and applying frost to all enemies in range. Increases clip size and max ammo. Freezes enemies faster. Increases clip size and max ammo. Freezes enemies even faster.

6. Kiss Kiss

Kiss Kiss is a double-barreled explosive shotgun in Mouse: P.I. For Hire. This weapon can fire explosive shells instead of normal bullets and deals fire impact damage. I recommend using this weapon at close range to wipe enemies instantly. The splash damage of this weapon can set the enemies on fire, making it easier to eliminate a group of enemies.

Kiss Kiss

This weapon can hold only two shells at a time, so you have to reload it after two shots. Constant reloading lets the enemies shoot you because you’re vulnerable at that time. The alt-fire for the Kiss Kiss is a fire grenade that can burn the enemies within range. Reach Miles Curd’s mansion while completing the White Lies and Dark Secrets mission to obtain Kiss Kiss.

Weapon B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 1) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 2) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 3)
Kiss Kiss Increases max ammo and projectile count. Boosts pushback and burn damage over time. Reduces recoil. Alt-Fire fires a heavy explosive round that blasts and burns every enemy caught in the impact. Increases max ammo and projectile count. Boosts pushback and burn damage over time. Increases max ammo and projectile count. Boosts pushback and burn damage over time.

7. Jar-Head

The Jar-Head is a stun-type weapon in Mouse: P.I. For Hire that stuns enemies instead of killing them instantly. Use this firearm to leave targets immobilized and vulnerable, making it effective against strong enemies and groups.

Jar Head

This weapon is perfect for crown control and destroying fragile walls, but doesn’t work on bosses. The alt-fire of Jar-Head is best for heavy headshot damage. You can get this weapon from a wooden structure near the metal gate while completing the Collect the Conscious Gun objective in the One Flew mission.

Weapon B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 1) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 2) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 3)
Jar-Head Increases damage, clip size, and max ammo. Boosts enemy stun duration and projectile speed. Reduces recoil. Alt-Fire channels a concentrated beam that deals massive damage on headshots. Increases damage, clip size, and max ammo. Boosts enemy stun duration and projectile speed. Reduces recoil. Increases damage, clip size, and max ammo. Boosts enemy stun duration and projectile speed. Reduces recoil.

8. Loose Cannon

The Loose Cannon is the rocket launcher of Mouse: P.I. For Hire that fires high-damage explosive shots. This weapon is designed to deal with tough enemies and heavy situations, but has low ammo and massive power. It fires a bouncing cannonball that ricochets off enemies and launches explosive projectiles.

Loose Cannon

Loose Cannon is not ideal for constant use and has a smaller explosive radius. Upgrading the Loose Cannon increases the damage, expands the blast radius, and improves ammo capacity. You have to reload this cannon between each shot. The alt-fire can break up a cannonball and launch the shrapnel at enemies. Loose Cannon can be obtained while chasing the crooked officer in the Saltwater Cambozo mission. This weapon is available right outside the building with a poster of Spike-D.

Weapon B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 1) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 2) B.A.N.G. Upgrade (Tier 3)
Loose Cannon Increases damage, blast radius, pushback, and max ammo. Reduces recoil. Alt-Fire charges up and fires crushed cannonball fragments that scatter across enemies.  9. D-Namite

D-Namite

The D-Namite is an explosive-type weapon that explodes and deals area damage in Mouse: P.I. For Hire. This is your throwable or placed explosive weapon, letting you blow up groups of enemies or clear space. The explosion occurs upon impact and deals massive damage to destroy the walls and shields. D-Namite can be found while locating the Stage Designer while completing Gumshoe in the Opera. Use this weapon against a group of enemies clustered together or to clear tight corridors or rooms.

10. Hellrazor

Hellrazor

The Hellrazor is a dagger-sword weapon that can deal massive melee fire damage. It has no ranged ability, so the best-case scenario to use this weapon is when the enemies are in melee range. This chainsaw can clear the room very quickly, but there are no B.A.N.G upgrades for this weapon. Hellrazor is obtained while progressing through hell during the mission.

Hi, I’m Ali. I started gaming with Max Payne, and it set the tone for my interest in darker, more immersive experiences. I mostly play soulslikes, RPGs, and FPS titles that focus on tight mechanics and pacing.

I have a strong appreciation for game soundtracks and how they shape the overall experience. I’m also a long-time horror fan, across both games and films, with a preference for atmosphere-driven storytelling. This space reflects that passion, exploring games through both their mechanics and the atmosphere they create.
