Windrose sold 1 million copies in its first week

Publisher and developer Kraken Express announced that Windrose has sold 1 million copies in its first six days of release.

Windrose reached a new milestone on Sunday, April 19, 2026, of over 200,000 concurrent players on Steam. The developer released a statement thanking fans for the support and stating that fixes are on the way.

“Your support for the game is absolutely astonishing, and your patience while we are working on fixes is truly heart-warming. While we keep working on the game, we read your reviews and comments, watch your videos and streams, and sometimes, honestly, shed a pirate-y tear of happiness, because now when the game is out you share our dream of swashbuckling adventure.”

Windrose released on April 14, 2026, for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store as an early access title.
