A new report has been released this week from reliable Halo insider, Rebs Gaming. In the new video on YouTube, Rebs reports that Project Tatanka, originally a Battle Royale Halo game, has been canceled, and now the focus is on an Extraction Shooter in the Halo universe.
Project Ekur is the new codename for the upcoming Halo Multiplayer game and is supposed to be a PvE Extraction Shooter. The insider received confirmation that this project was being developed as an extraction shooter at least until the end of Summer 2023. Other sources claim that Ekur is Halo’s next multiplayer project.
Another source of Rebs also heard that Halo Studios and Certain Affinity changed focus to the next mainline Halo game. This could possibly mean that Project Ekur has been turned into the multiplayer portion of the next mainline title.
It’s possible we won’t hear about the next Halo project until Halo Fest, which is happening this December in Seattle, Washington. What we do know is that Halo: Campaign Evolved is releasing this year and possibly in July for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC.
