Unknown Worlds announced that Subnautica 2 will launch in Early Access on May 14 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
The sequel introduces a new alien ocean world, expanded survival systems, and, for the first time, four-player co-op, making a great step forward for the series.
The developer released a new cinematic trailer with the announcement. It offers a new look at the world and gameplay that players can expect to see at release. It captures the series’ immersive world and atmosphere through cinematic storytelling. It reveals new underwater vehicles, tools, and more.
“We’re excited for players to experience Subnautica 2, beginning May 14th!” said Ted Gill, CEO of Unknown Worlds. “Our team cannot wait to hear your feedback as the game evolves throughout Early Access.”
The Subnautica series has sold more than 18.5 million copies worldwide, and Subnautica 2 is the leading Steam wishlist for nine months in a row.
At a certain point last year, we didn’t know when we’d get Subnautica 2 since it was reported that Krafton pushed out the leadership of Unknown Worlds Entertainment Studio.
Subnautica 2 will cost $29.99 USD at launch.
