The Lego games have been on a new kick with the last major release – Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. But last summer, TT Games announced Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. But this time around, it is an open-world experience that delves into the superhero’s most iconic films, comics, and story arcs. The game was later slated to release in on May 29th.

Earlier this spring, TT Games & Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that the title would instead move up a week. And players who pre-order the deluxe edition can jump ahead another three days. However, on Xbox there was a temporary loophole. Via the storefront, users did manage to access the full game ahead of its street date last week.

Looking ahead for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, DC Comics is preparing some exciting things for the DLC. It was revealed that the comic conglomerate is hosting a new sweepstakes for players to submit their own villain ideas. The winner chosen will find their creation featured in DC’s Detective Comics #1113 & Batman #14 as well as the DLC for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

“A first-of-its-kind fan opportunity allowing one winner to help create an all-new DC Batman Super-Villain who may become part of official DC canon. The character will debut in the pages of DC’s comics, along with an appearance in the highly anticipated video game LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, both scheduled for September,” the press release reads.

The sweepstakes runs until May 31st this month and the grand prize winner will be granted direct collaboration with DC Comics on the villains creation as well as being involved in the naming too. Alongside being featured in the add-on for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight aimed for September, the villain is to also be a focus come Batman Day On September 19th around that same time.

Are you planning to create your own Batman villain to be featured in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight?

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight ships on May 22, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
