Microsoft’s News Centre website accidently posted a blank article earlier announcing the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL. These are two new low-end Windows Phone devices. The 640 XL seems like it’ll be a larger version of the 640 and it also seems Microsoft will be using a simpler ‘XL’ method rather than always numbering for some devices.

The Lumia 640 seems to be a 5-inch device with 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with an 8 mega-pixel on the rear of the phone and a 1 mega-pixel camera on the front. Microsoft have been rumoured to reveal a Lumia 1320 successor, so it’s possible the 640 XL may cater for that.

Tomorrow morning, Microsoft will hold a press event at Mobile World Congress where it will announce new Lumia devices and now it’s most likely these two phones will be the star of the show. Those of us waiting for a flagship, I recommended waiting until the launch of Windows 10 as then Microsoft plans to launch a new flagship handset.
