Bandai Namco Reveals Animated Short Series ‘Tekken! Cartoon’ Coming Soon

Just over two years ago, Bandai Namco shipped the latest entry in the Tekken series. “Tekken 8 fires on all cylinders, honoring its legacy while also pushing the franchise forward,” our review reads. “The engaging solo and multiplayer experience combined with its stunning and immersive presentation make this game the true King of the Iron Fist Tournament.” The series also received an animated series on Netflix, ‘Tekken Bloodline’, back in 2022. 

Recently, the publisher revealed that new animated shorts based on the universe are also on the way under the name ‘Tekken! Cartoon’. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

The trailer’s description on YouTube lists Tsubasa Tobinaga for the cast of Tekken! Cartoon. Additionally, the delineation also reveals that Japan-based animator Amehiro is working on the animation. They previously worked on IPs like Pokémon, but this is their first official project. For music, Japanese artist in the blue shirt is composing the audible work for the shorts series.

Short form content in gaming has been a growing trend in recent times. We saw this with Overwatch back in 2023 with ‘Overwatch: Genesis’. Similarly, Sonic the Hedgehog has certainly adopted the format for practically all of its major releases. The most recent came in 2024 with the release of ‘Sonic X Shadow Generations – Dark Beginnings’. There is also ‘Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – The Animation’ which you can view by heading here.
