Electronic Arts’ E3 happened yesterday unveiling Bioware’s new IP Anthem, EA Originals’ A Way Out, FIFA 18, Battlefront 2 and more.
Battlefront 2
Arguably the biggest reveal so far was Star Wars Battlefront 2. We get to see Yoda, Rey, Darth Maul and more in action. Actor Jon Boyega himself, who plays Finn in the current Star Wars films, announced that he will be a free, playable character for season one of the game. EA also announced that new characters and vehicles, etc will be free for those who own Battlefront 1. This means, if you haven’t purchased it already, I suggest doing so in order to earn yourself those extra, free characters. There are brand new planets shown, including the new planet from the upcoming The Last Jedi, which will be playable for the first time in a game series.
Battlefront 2 releases on Xbox One, PS4 and PC November 17th, 2017, but EA Access users can play 8 days early beginning on November 9th.

Anthem
The long awaited Bioware’s new IP debuted with a teaser and is getting gameplay trailer today at Xbox’s E3. Anthem will be an action-adventure title that will work as a “live service,” similar to how games like Destiny and Tom Clancy’s The Division work. It’s slated to arrive Spring 2018 on Xbox One (and Scorpio), PS4 and PC.

FIFA 18
The first official gameplay for FIFA 18 was revealed yesterday by EA during the EA Play conference at E3 in Los Angeles. It shows star Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid undergoing some incredible motion capture and intense, new career mode footage. In addition, EA also announced how fans can get involved more than ever before and represent their favorite team in esports.
The biggest step in gameplay innovation in franchise history, FIFA 18 introduces Real Player Motion Technology, an all-new animation system which unlocks a new level of responsiveness, and player personality – now Cristiano Ronaldo and other top players feel and move exactly like they do on the real pitch. Player Control combined with new Team Styles and Positioning give you the tools to deliver Dramatic Moments that ignite Immersive Atmospheres around the world.
FIFA 18 releases on September 29th, but you can play three days earlier on the 26th if you pre-order the special Ronaldo Edition. Those with EA Access, of course, get five days before that on the 21st, eight days early total.

A Way Out
EA announced one of its new IP’s at EA Play yesterday during their E3 conference. It is a brand new co-op adventure designed by the team that brought you Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Only designed for split screen so you can once again enjoy multiplayer gaming the old-fashioned way, sitting next to a buddy on the couch, A Way Out is promised to be an emotional action adventure. You can also play online, but it is made to play personally besides someone else. Might be a good title for gaming couples, old friends, or people with kids looking for a way to spend time with them.
The narrative keeps you on your toes, offering a fresh, unique and compelling experience throughout. Get a unique look into the character’s personal lives and their driving motivations through their interaction with others as strong cinematic moments tie the plot together and propel the characters forward through their journey. What begins as a thrilling escape quickly turns into an emotional adventure unlike anything seen & played before.
There is no release date available yet, but EA is said that the game is slated to arrive early 2018.

Need for Speed: Payback
EA and Ghost Games revealed the newest gameplay and story trailer for Need for Speed Payback during their EA Play event at E3 in Los Angeles. It gives us a new look at the game’s three main story characters, Tyler, Jess and Mac. The three, in the mission shown, need to take down some enforcers of The House, the main enemy organization in the game. In the mission, they need to recover and steal safely a brand new vehicle type. It has a special type of technology that allows it go to 0-60 mph in under three seconds, so the three are trying to find out exactly what the House is hiding.
Need for Speed Payback is going to launch on November 10th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC but you can play eight days earlier if you have EA Access. Beginning on November 2nd, you can play for a total of 10 hours and all of your progress will carry over to the main game beginning on the 10th. Once you use all your 10 hours of gameplay, you will need to wait till’ the 10th to continue.

Madden 18
For the first time in forever (forgive the Frozen pun), Madden 18 will feature a story career mode. It will be called Longshot, and was revealed for the first time at EA’s EA Play event at E3 in Los Angeles. The game follows the events of a young player called Devin Wade (you can change it in game) and has Dan Marino as your mentor. Growing up from the streets and college, similar to FIFA, you make your way to play in the NFL.
Depending on your gameplay, you will either become a star, traded, relegated to the bench or maybe even outright cut by your team. Devin Wade isn’t just your normal high school football player. He was a former five-star athlete and is now trying to make his way back after three years away from the game. Mahershala Ali (Cottonmouth – Daredevil) plays a mentor for Wade who coaches him along the way. Dan Marino, played by himself, also stars in the game.

NBA Live 18
NBA Live 18 made a comeback this year at EA Play during EA’s E3 press conference in Los Angeles. It features a brand new career mode called The One, which allows you to play in both the NBA from the ground up as a rookie. You will also get to play in the Streets in 5v5 pick up games against NBA Legends. That’s not all, however. NBA Live 18 will feature online play in Streets mode, where five players on each team will be able to play against each other in you make the rules street rules. Your play will determine how your stats level up and also allow you to unlock new gear like sneakers, clothes, etc. To entice players to get the game, their will be a free demo in August that will let you progress carry over to the full game release.
Your path is defined by the choices you make with the freedom to play how you want, with whom you want, and where the respect you earn in THE STREETS matters just as much as the rings you earn in the league. No solid release date was announced for NBA Live 18, but the game does tend to release in September close to the NBA 2K titles.
