Today is a big day for fans of Destiny as it was announced that Bungie will split ways with Activision who have been partnered since 2010. The company left a statement via Bungie.net:

“With Activision, we created something special. To date, Destiny has delivered a combination of over 50 million games and expansions to players all around the world. More importantly, we’ve also witnessed a remarkable community – tens of millions of Guardians strong – rise up and embrace Destiny, to play together, to make and share memories, and even to do truly great things that reach far beyond the game we share, to deliver a positive impact on people’s everyday lives.”

With that being said this means that Activision are transferring the rights to Destiny back to Bungie making them independent once again and have full control of the franchise which can only mean great things moving forward. As we all know there have been lots of PlayStation only content for a limited time and that the title is playable on BattleNet and Blizzard announced on Twitter that Destiny 2 will receive full support moving forward. This means there might not be platform exclusive content anymore which would be a big plus for every user in the future, but it’s going to take some time before we start talking about that and other things Bungie might do now.

You can see what Activision had to say below in their statement:

With that all being said are you excited about the future of Destiny?

Still Developing.
