Following the debut of the upcoming film based on Sega’s Blue Blur back in December, not much else has been revealed regarding the story the movie will follow or even a full look at the cast for the videogame adapted flick.

Today on Twitter the first look Jim Carrey’s portrayal of Dr. Robotnik have emerged on Twitter which spawned a lot of noise around more to be revealed for the upcoming film.

In the image from user @SEGAbits above, Carrey is in full costume with the mustache and glasses included. Though he isn’t portraying the more portly doctor that Sonic fans are more familiar with, he does however show an eager expression for hijinks as in the based games.

The Twitter user also mentions that a full trailer is said to drop sometime tomorrow, but as of writing this, neither Sega nor Paramount Pictures have yet to verify if a trailer will actually be dropping on May 30th or not.

Previously, CGI renders of the possible blue hedgehog have surface online which only continue to make fans wince at the appearance of Sonic’s realistic-looking appendages and fur.

What are your thoughts on Jim Carrey’s look as Dr. Eggman?
