Late last month, PlayStation Lifestyle reported that a coming DLC for 2012’s Borderlands 2 will be dropping sometime in the coming future which will bridge the gap between both the previous and coming Borderlands 3.
Now according to a recent Steam listing, the alleged downloadable content is now aimed to be launching sometime during E3 next week. Here is the full description of the new story content:
Return to the award winning shooter-looter for a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault’s map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Fight new bosses, explore new zones, get new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary) and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet.
The approaching DLC at the time of the leak is said to be titled ‘Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary’, which seems to align with the synopsis from the listing. As well as detailing that that the content will be releasing the same time as the coming event: the listing shares that the DLC will be going live on June 9th.
As for what platforms the content will be available for, the leak also suggests that all platforms that the game is available for will receive the DLC for free. But as of writing this, the listing has been removed. Looking that the supposed release for the DLC is the same day as the Microsoft press conference, then is when we should expect the content to officially drop.
Borderlands 2 is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PSVR.
