The end of this generation for consoles between Microsoft and Sony is coming to a close as titles like Death Stranding and Halo Infinite are just upon us in less than two years. But one game that has not been brought up for quite some time now is Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima as we still have no idea of when the game is expected to release.
Looking at Kojima Productions’ first title releasing later this year and the possibility of Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated sequel The Last of Us Part II reported to launch possibly next year, that leaves the feudal Japan-set title to be the last potential flagship game for the PlayStation 4. Currently, there is no confirmed titles that will be available for the inevitable PlayStation 5.
According to a recent post on Reddit, we could be potentially know when Ghost of Tsushima is aimed to release. Reddit user Tmfwang uploaded an image which is said to be from a Sony shareholder presentation that lists not only the studios under Sony Interactive Entertainment, but also the title from the studios. Listing games that have already launched like Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone: the list also holds upcoming titles like Death Stranding and Ghosts of Tsushima with their respected release dates.

The list revealing that the upcoming Sucker Punch title is aimed to release sometime in 2019 with no approximate release date. Though the listing reads as “’19”, this could imply that the game could officially drop in the last financial quarter which is expected to conclude at the end of March.
This meaning Sony could possibly have some breathing room between Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II if speculation ends up being accurate. That being said, this is purely speculated with no real basis or confirming word from either Sony or the developers on the rumor and should be treated as such.
For if there is a planned release date for Ghost of Tsushima to be in the near future, the best bet is to look towards an upcoming State of Play livestream presentation that Sony occasionally hosts.
Ghost of Tsushima is currently listed for PlayStation 4 with no confirmed launch date.
