CD Projekt Red President Shares Three Cyberpunk-Related Projects Are In Development

It looks that developer CD Projekt Red is looking to expand on the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 brand before the initial title has even hit store shelves as three unannounced project have suddenly been detailed from the developer’s President, Adam Kiciński surrounding the sci-fi first-person RPG.

During an interview with Bankier, Kiciński told the Polish-based outlet that three separate teams are currently working on projects related to the April-aimed title. Dissecting the President’s statement, Kiciński shares that one project is the base game that is coming out next year, while the second project is a separate online game that will come sometime following the release of the single player-focused title.

As for the third unnamed project, Kiciński did not leave any hints to what exactly it might be. Leaving the implication that it most likely could be a follow-up title to the upcoming game if it is indeed related to Cyberpunk in anyway. However, this does not mean the developer is already deep into cracking out a sequel just yet; most likely in pre-production phase before the team goes all in for the new game in the series.

On the other hand though, it could be that the third team is working on the upcoming downloadable content that is planned to drop in expansions similar to how CD Projekt Red did for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Seeing the scale of previous DLC for the 2015 title and Cyberpunk to expand further than the fantasy RPG, the studio could consider the added on content to be big enough as its own project on the same line as a game.
