This past June overwhelmed fans of Japanese developer FromSoftware when they announced at Microsoft’s E3 press conference to be collaborating with Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin on a new IP, Elden Ring. Although the game did end up getting leaked ahead of its reveal, we still had little to no information on what will make up this new game.

Even now in 2020 we are still unsure what Elden Ring truly is six months later. However, it looks that FromSoftware might have actually dropped the ball on the upcoming title as the studio potentially leaked the release date via a New Year’s greeting card. In the latter of the virtual greeting card from the team, it explicitly confirms that Elden Ring will arrive this coming June.

You can view the card itself in the image below:

The card cites the already released and Game of the Year recipient Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and August-released Metal Wolf Chaos XD, alongside listing Elden Ring to be “released in June.” Looking at how the sentence was worded, it looks to be a slip up of course for what can be guessed as a separate document intended for that information.

This discovery only leaves us to wait for the developer themselves or publisher Bandai Namco to properly disclose the release date for the new title. With the game being marketed through Microsoft, we could expect that announcement at a Inside Xbox live presentation in the coming future.

Are you excited to see Elden Ring arrive this coming June?

Elden ring is listed for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
