No one can forget the release of Bethesda’s Fallout 76 back in November 2018 as one of the biggest upsets for a big budget title in the industry. Despite the underwhelming launch atop of crawling bugs that are littered in the latest Fallout entry, Bethesda Softworks continued to promise more improvements and adjustments to better the overall experience through scheduled roadmaps, client updates, and occurring events as time went on.

With the latest expansion update that graced the Appalachian wastes with the Nuclear Winter free add-on this past summer, fans grew annoyed as they felt other additions should be made instead of adding a pseudo-battle royale mode. Which leads us now to the Wastelanders update that is scheduled to arrive later this year.

Branded as “The New Beginning,” Bethesda wanted to do a complete restart on Fallout 76 with changes that many devoted fans continually requested be made to repair the damage already done. Things like AI characters making a return to breathe life into the currently spacious world. As well as introducing a new story that many players have also been asking for that would grip players to play all the way through.

The synopsis for Wastelanders is said to pit the player between a faction war comprised of The Settlers and the Raiders feuding over control for West Virginia. Alike the exposition for Fallout 76 initially, you will arise from your residing vault and explore this new take of the 2018-released title.

Player choice is said to make a great impact on the campaign as differing story branches will be making a return in Wastelanders. With NPCs now arriving, you will have the option to befriend or create new enemies on your journey. Enemies as well have been dialed up a notch with returning foes alongside a slew of new creatures that you will run into along the way. Not to mention the new abundance of rare loot you will uncover when playing also.

Bethesda revealed that the Wastelanders update is scheduled to release in just about two months from today. Adding on, the company also shared that the game will be arriving to Steam the same day. As of now, the title was only available on PC via Bethesda.net, but that won’t be the case very soon.

Do you think you might return to Fallout 76 with this new revolutionizing update?

Fallout 76’s Wastelanders update is said to arrive to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on April 7, 2020; base game out now.
